The most famous roulette story has to be that of Chris Boyd, a 40 year-old computer programmer from England. The European wheel - also known as the Single Zero roulette or sometimes French Roulette is very similar to the American wheel. The fact that European wheel only has a single zero - whereas American wheel has a single zero and a double zero, makes the biggest difference between these two. As the red/black and odd/even are placed right next to each other, and the first18/last18 betting spots are placed right next to the single numbers on the american table it is more practical during the game, but the European table is more more beautiful in symmetry. Thanks to the single zero the European roulette players have better odds than the American roulette players. There 38 numbered slots on American roulette wheel: numbers from 0 to 36 and 00. The betting layout consists of every individual number as well as a host of "outside" or combinations of numbers. After the players make their bets the dealer spins the wheel and a ball and after several seconds the ball will land in one of the numbered slots. |
The game of European Roulette is played by spinning a small ball on a round wheel. The wheel contains thirty seven numbered pockets. When the wheel stops, the ball stops in one of the slots. The object of European Roulette is to correctly predict the slot in which the ball will stop. The player wins if he has predicted the number right. The winning amount is dependable on the bet and the bet amount.
How to Play Roulette.
Placing a bet.
There are chips to place a bet. Your chips are stacked by denomination (, , , 0, 0) at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. You have to select the amount you would like to wager on a given roll(s). To choose a chip you have to click the left mouse button on the chip you want to bet with. After choosing a chip you have to place your bet on the Roulette table by clicking on a bet field. To specify a bet that does not equal to an existing chip denomination, simply click on another chip denomination after placing your previous chip on the table. For example, to bet , click on the chip and place it on the table then click on the chip and place it on top of the chip. If you want to repeat your last bet hit the "0" button of your numeric keyboard. Depending on where you choose to place your chips, you can bet on anywhere from one to eighteen numbers with a single bet. You spin the wheel after you have made a bet or bets. To spin the roulette wheel press the "Spin" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen or click on the roulette wheel. Above the game menu you can see a history table, in which the results of the previous winnings are shown. In the history table there are numbers of different color. The Yellow numbers mean that they belong to the Black set of numbers, the Red numbers - to the Red set of numbers and the Green colored number is '0'. Press the "Pass" button to make the wheel spin without making a bet. You can place eight different kinds of bets on the European Roulette table. Each type of bet covers a certain range of numbers. Each bet has its own payoff rate. Rows are short lines of three numbers each. Columns are long lines with twelve numbers each. There exist inside and outside bets. Inside bets are made on the numbered space or on the lines between them. Outside bets are made on the special boxes below and to the right of the board. Straight Up bet is a bet on any single number (including zero). Split Bet is a bet on the line between any two numbers, here 0-1, 0-2, 0-3 combinations are not allowed. Street Bet is a bet placed at the end of any row of numbers. A street bet covers three numbers. Corner Bet is a bet at the corner where four numbers meet. Corner bet covers four numbers. Line Bet is a bet at the end of two rows at the intersection between them. A line bet covers all the numbers in either row, for a total of six. Column Bet is a bet in one of the boxes at the end of the columns. Column bet covers all the numbers in that column, a total of twelve. The zero is not covered by any of the columns. Dozen Bet is a bet placed in the box marked 12P and covering numbers 1 to 12, 12M covering numbers 13 to 24, 12D covering numbers 25 to 36. Red/Black, Even/Odd, Low/High is a bet placed in one of the six boxes and covering the half of the board described in that box. Each box covers eighteen numbers. Low covers numbers 1 to 18. High covers numbers 19 to 36.
It is very difficult to release the ball with the same speed, but some dealers can do this. It is called a dealer signature. As long as there is little or no deflection from the metal stops on the roulette wheel it is possible to predict where the ball will drop. If you watch the game and notice that the number has repeated within 100 spins you must use this chance as you are more likely to deal with a biased wheel and turn it to your advantage. The biased wheel gives you an opportunity to overcome the house’s advantage. There are special chips for playing the game of Roulette. The chips have to be bought before playing the game. Don’t forget to exchange you Roulette chips for regular casino chips before you leave the Roulette table. When choosing a bet, try to avoid 5 number bets as the payback with these bets is much lower. The house advantage on a 5 number bet is a whopping 7. 89 percent. If you have a choice play the European Roulette as the odds are more in your favor. If you play the European Roulette and make the even outside bet use the Surrender option. Never spend more than you have planned to.
