Roulette Strategy

The most famous roulette story has to be that of Chris Boyd, a 40 year-old computer programmer from England. In January of 1994, Chris followed his dream to the casinos of Las Vegas for the ultimate roulette spin. Chris had 0,000 and he wanted to bet it on one spin of the wheel. He searched around Las Vegas for a casino that would actually take his bet. Having got refusals in most of the casinos Chris went to Binion’s Horseshoe Club, which was the last casino he visited. The maximum table bet on red/black bet in Horseshoe Club was 0,000, but they met him halfway and let him make this bet. The casino also agreed to block out the double-zero on the wheel as this didn’t exist in the European version of the game that Chris was used to playing. Chris placed all his money on red. The casino and the dealer agreed to a few practice spins to ensure that full fairness for everyone concerned, and then the big spin came. The ball landed in number 7, red. Chris won 0,000 instantly, and asked for the money to be put into the casinos cage, and vowed never to gamble again.

Roulette Game System. One of the most popular betting systems in roulette is the Martingale. There are a great number of variations of it. The main idea of the system is that when you win, you pocket your bet. But when you lose, you double the size of your previous bet. By doing this in case you win, you get back your previous loss and one more unit. And so on.
The Martingale System works great only in case you have an infinite bankroll and no betting limits.
Another popular roulette system is the d'Alembert system. This system assumes that after a win, a player is less likely to win again. So after a win, you subtract a chip from your bet. The d'Alembert system also assumes that you are less likely to lose after a losing spin, so in that case, you add a chip to your bet. The fact that the roulette wheel has no memory and each spin is an independent trial with exactly the same odds of a win or loss is the previous spin is a weak point of the system.

The world 'roulette' means 'a small wheel' in French. It was Blaise Pascal who introduced the primitive version of this game in the 17th century. Later the single zero Roulette appeared. It was introduced by Francois and Louis Blanc. As gambling was illegal in France in the 19th century, the game was introduced in Hamburg, Germany where it became very popular and replaced an earlier version that featured higher odds. Later Francois and his son Camille were responsible for bringing the game of Roulette back to southern France for the Prince of Monaco, Charles III. The game of Roulette was brought to the USA at the beginning of the 19th century. Some additional features were deleted and the game got a double zero back. The game became popular in the old west of America.

When an experienced dealer spins the Roulette wheel and releases the ball with approximately the same speed it is called the dealer signature. As long as there is little or no deflection from the metal stops on the roulette wheel it is possible to predict where the ball will drop. If the number repeats within 100 spins you can turn this to your advantage as this is a biased wheel. If you want to overcome the casino’s advantage then the biased wheel is your chance. There are special chips for playing the game of Roulette. The chips have to be bought before playing the game. Don’t forget to exchange you Roulette chips for regular casino chips before you leave the Roulette table. Try to avoid 5 number bets, as it has the least profitable payback of all the bets. 7,89 is the house edge of 5 number bets. Never play American Roulette as 00 decreases your chances of winning. European Roulette is more in your favor. Don’t forget about the Surrender option, which is available in European Roulette. Never spend more than you have planned to.
