One of the most popular betting systems in roulette is the Martingale. There are a lot of variations of it. You should follow such principle: if you win, then pocket your bet. If you lose, you should double your previous bet. If you win that will guarantee you get back your previous loss and one more unit. And so on.
The Martingale System works great only in case you have an infinite bankroll and no betting limits.
Another popular roulette system is the d'Alembert system. This system assumes that after a win, a player is less likely to win again. So after a win, you subtract a chip from your bet. The d'Alembert system also assumes that you are less likely to lose after a losing spin, so in that case, you add a chip to your bet. The fact that the roulette wheel has no memory and each spin is an independent trial with exactly the same odds of a win or loss is the previous spin is a weak point of the system.

The world 'roulette' means 'a small wheel' in French. It was Blaise Pascal who introduced the primitive version of this game in the 17th century. Later the single zero Roulette appeared. It was introduced by Francois and Louis Blanc. In the 19th century casino gambling was forbidden in France, that's why the game wasn't so well-known in France, but it was very popular in Hamburg and Germany. Later Francois and his son Camille were responsible for bringing the game of Roulette back to southern France for the Prince of Monaco, Charles III. In the 1800s the game of Roulette was introduced to the US public. The improvements were deleted, and a double "00" returned. The game became popular in the old west of America.

Roulette is a wheel game. The wheel of the roulette is spinned on an axis which is placed in a bowl. There are 37 or 38 numbered slots on the wheel, an American roulette wheel contains 38 slots, a European roulette wheel - 37. The numbers are either red or black. The 0 or 00 are green. 8 players can participate the game at the same time. Accordind to the rules the croupier spins the wheel of roulette in one direction and then rolls the ball around the edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. After the ball had fallen at one of the slots and stopped, the croupier announces the winners. The aim of roulette is to guess the number of the slot in which the ball will stop and to make the right bet. When you first sit down at a roulette table, you'll need to buy chips from the croupier, and roulette chips are almost always different from all other chips in the casino. Each player is assigned his own color of chips so that the croupier knows who to pay off at the end of each spin. A player is allowed to bet until the croupier announces, "No more bets. "After the ball had stopped, the croupier puts a marker on top of the winning number on the table. If there are bets on that number, the marker is placed on top of the chips. The croupier sweeps off the table all losing bets and pays off the winning bets.
