Roulette Game Basic Rules. Roulette is a classic in the world of casino games. In any full service casino in the United States besides blackjack and craps you'll find roulette which is more popular in France where it is historically a cultural part of the gambling scene. Roulette has been played in Europe since the 18th century, and online roulette games are popular now all over the world. Roulette was played in Paris since 1796 and nowadays it almost has't changed. Multiple games gave birth to roulette. An Italian ball game called "biribi" was also popular in France in the early 18th century, and it was combined with another wheel game that involved colors but not numbers to make a modern roulette game. The English game "Roly-poly" which consisted of black and white slots was launched in 1720. So we can consider roulette a fusion of birib and Roly-poly. To understand a game is to enjoy it. Only in case you understand game you can enjoy it. And although knowledge of the game won't change your strategy or your chances of winning, it will increase the amount of pleasure you take away from the tables.

If you translate the word of “Roulette” from French you will get “small wheel”. It was Blaise Pascal who introduced the primitive version of this game in the 17th century. Later the single zero Roulette appeared. It was introduced by Francois and Louis Blanc. The game wasn't then very popular in France as any form of gambling was considered illegal, but Roulette was well-known in Germany and Hamburg. Later the game of Roulette was brought back to France and the Prince of Monaco loved this game a lot. The game of Roulette was brought to the USA at the beginning of the 19th century. Some additional features were deleted and the game got a double zero back. The game became popular in the old west of America.

Roulette is a wheel game. The wheel placed in a bowl spins on an axis. There are 37 or 38 numbered slots on the wheel, an American roulette wheel contains 38 slots, a European roulette wheel - 37. There are black and red numbers. The 0 or 00 are green. 8 players can participate the game at the same time. The rules suggest that the croupier spins the wheel of roulette in one direction and then rolls the ball around the edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. After the ball had fallen at one of the slots and stopped, the croupier announces the winners. The aim of roulette is to guess the number of the slot in which the ball will stop and to make the right bet. When you first sit down at a roulette table, you'll need to buy chips from the croupier, and roulette chips are almost always different from all other chips in the casino. Each player is assigned his own color of chips so that the croupier knows who to pay off at the end of each spin. When the croupier announced "No more bets", hlayers cannot make bets. After the result of the spin is determined, the croupier puts a marker on top of the winning number on the table. The marker is placed on top of the chips, if there are bets on that number. Then all losing bets are swept off the table before the winning bets are paid off.
