Roulette Strategy

In roulette everything depends on luck. There is little you can do from a strategic point of view other than trying to keep the house edge to a minimum. Casinos often have special rules which directly affect on the edge. The first special rule is the 'surrender' option. In Roulette, this rule applies to outside bets which pay even money only, such as odd/even, red/black, and high/low. In case the ball falls on 0 or 00 you lose half your bet,but not the whole betting. This affects the house edge considerably; after all it is the 0 and 00 which account for the high house edge in the first place. Of course, the payoffs aren't as great for outside bets, but simply by finding a table with the ‘surrender' rule, you are improving your odds substantially. The point of 0 and 00 is interesting enough. You better look for one 0 tables, which are called European tables. Primarily found in Europe, these tables offer a much more attractive house edge from the player's point of view. With a European table to play on you are reducing the house edge from 5. 26 percent to 2. 7 percent. Physically European roulette tables are found more often in Europe, but in the ‘online world’ gambling they are just a click away.

Roulette Basic Rules. Some casinos have special rules.
In Prison/En prison
When the ball falls on zero, red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets will not be collected by the croupier - instead they will have to stay on the table - in other words they are in prison. In the next spin the players have a chance of winning their original bet back - if their bet wins they will get their original bet back but with no additional win. If it's zero again the bets remain in prison one more time and so on. As this special rule reduced the casinos edge, it's greatly to the advantage for the players.
La Partage
In case the ball stops at zero slot, the croupier will not fully collect red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets. Only half of the players’ bets will be collected - the rest will be returned to the players. La Partage rule reduces the casinos edge to 1. 35 percent as well as In Prison rule.

The Online Roulette Table is pretty standard and universal. You have the 36 numbers and zero or zeroes laid out and around them you have the variety and assortment of outside bets which you can make. Most online roulette games feature exactly the same table. The color of the online roulette table is normally green. The only concern with the online roulette table is that there are not too many people playing there because if that is the case and there are simply way too many chips flying around everywhere, not only will it start to get confusing but arguments may break out over which chips belong to whom. If you don’t know how to play or don’t know the rules well enough you should know that Roulette table has lower bet limits. There are upper table limits as well, typically varying for every type of bet in a fixed proportion. The betting table consists of two parts. They are inside and outside parts. On inside table you can make bets on individual numbers or on a combination of numbers, on outside table you can make bets on non-numeric conditions.

The inside table.

The inside table contains 3 columns of sequential numbers. The zero (and double zero for American roulette) can be found above this table, and the column bet fields are below (they technically belong to the outside table). To the right or to the left side of the inside table the outside table can be found. The minimum wager for bets in the inside area are shown on the table itself, and players can make bets lower than this minimum limit.

The outside table.

The outside table encompasses special bets - there are no numbers in this table. The bet amount on the outside table can’t be lower the minimum limit. The three squares attached to the inside table represent dozens. Betting on each dozen wins when any number within that dozen is played out. The next row is comprised of three pairs of cubicles. The outer squares are the "high/low bets": you can bet either on low (1 to 18) or high (19 to 36) half of the numbers. The counterpart of high/low is "odd/even": you bet on odd or even numbers respectively. The innermost squares are indeed "red/black": similar to the bets above, you respectively bet on red or black numbers. A "column bet" is a bet on either of three columns of 12 numbers when the chips are placed in the column squares under the number table. Remember that any bet in the outside table excludes zero and double zero. Consider this if you are planning on a strategy.

The first and the most common mistake is not setting a bank roll limit. Before going to any casino you have to decide to yourself how much you can afford to spend in the casino. Take this sum you can afford and leave all your credit cards and the rest of your money at home. When you spend your entire bank roll move on and find something else to do, don't bother getting emotionally involved with the games you're playing because it's the quickest way to spend much more money! It may sound strange but some gamblers when going to the casino don’t know the rules of the game they are going to play. You must know well the rules, features and bets of the game you are playing. Only then you can win. Most players hit games they don't know, thus they lose more than they can gamble. It is not a secret that in some casinos you can get different alcohol drinks for free. Drinking impairs your judgement and gets you emotionally involved within the game thus losing feels worse, and most importantly you won't be able to play using scientifically proven strategies that shrink the odds of the casino winning. The third mistake is drinking while playing casino games. The only advice here is to avoid drinking in casinos. Are you sure that you play at a right casino? Always play at casios with better bonuses, promotions and lower commosions. Players who haven’t work out their own strategy of playing think that the way other gamblers play can help them to win. This is a very serious mistake. Play your own way and never stick to strategies of other gamblers.
