The wheel weights a hundred pounds and is has a diameter of 3 feet. The numbers 1 through 36 are divided evenly among red and black "pockets". The ball will land in one of the pockets. Depending on the Roulette variation there is one or two green pockets with 0 or 0 and 00. The numbers are not distributed in a random fashion. A balance between red and black, high and low, and odd and even is sought by the wheel makers. For every number on the wheel, directly across from it is the next highest even number. Black and red alternate, pairs of even numbers alternate with pairs of odd numbers (with 0 and 00 exceptions). This roulette wheel design is standard within the industry. The wheel is spinned by the dealer in the counterclockwise direction and then he releases a plastic ball along the top of the wheel’s cavity. As the wheel loses velocity the ball is pulled down off of the track and bounces around until it settles into a pocket. There are a million small buffers and bumps to ensure that the ball is tossed around a good bit randomly before it finds a home.

Premise French Roulette. The European wheel - also known as the Single Zero roulette or sometimes French Roulette is very similar to the American wheel.
The greatest difference between the European and the American wheel is the fact that European wheel only has a single zero - whereas American wheel has a single zero and a double zero.
As the red/black and odd/even are placed right next to each other, and the first18/last18 betting spots are placed right next to the single numbers on the american table it is more practical during the game, but the European table is more more beautiful in symmetry.
Thanks to the single zero the European roulette players have better odds than the American roulette players.
American roulette wheel is divided into 38 numbered slots:numbers 0 to 36 and 00. The betting layout consists of every individual number as well as a host of "outside" or combinations of numbers. After the players make their bets the dealer spins the wheel and a ball and after several seconds the ball will land in one of the numbered slots.

The world 'roulette' means 'a small wheel' in French. It was Blaise Pascal who introduced the primitive version of this game in the 17th century. Later the single zero Roulette appeared. It was introduced by Francois and Louis Blanc. As gambling was illegal in France in the 19th century, the game was introduced in Hamburg, Germany where it became very popular and replaced an earlier version that featured higher odds. Later the game of Roulette was brought back to France and the Prince of Monaco loved this game a lot. In the 1800s the game of Roulette was introduced to the US public. The improvements were deleted, and a double "00" returned. The game became popular in the old west of America.

Roulette is a wheel game. The wheel placed in a bowl spins on an axis. There are 37 or 38 numbered slots on the wheel, an American roulette wheel contains 38 slots, a European roulette wheel - 37. The numbers can be black or red. The 0 and 00 are considered green. 8 players can participate the game at the same time. Accordind to the rules the croupier spins the wheel of roulette in one direction and then rolls the ball around the edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. When the ball stops and falls at one of the slots the croupier announces the winners. You are to guess the number of the slot in which the ball will stop and to make the right bet. Before you start game, you buy chips from the croupier, and roulette chips are almost always different from all other chips in the casino. Each player has chips of his own color that's why the croupier knows who to pay off at the end of each spin. A player is allowed to bet until the croupier announces, "No more bets. "After the ball had stopped, the croupier puts a marker on top of the winning number on the table. If there are bets on that number, the marker is placed on top of the chips. The croupier sweeps off the table all losing bets and after that the winning bets are paid off.
