Roulette Strategy

Roulette is a game of chance. There is little you can do from a strategic point of view other than trying to keep the house edge to a minimum. Casinos often have special rules which directly affect on the edge. The first special rule is the 'surrender' option. In Roulette, this rule applies to outside bets which pay even money only, such as odd/even, red/black, and high/low. In case the ball falls on 0 or 00 you lose half your bet,but not the whole betting. This affects the house edge considerably; after all it is the 0 and 00 which account for the high house edge in the first place. Of course, the payoffs aren't as great for outside bets, but simply by finding a table with the ‘surrender' rule, you are improving your odds substantially. Rather interesting point is the 0 and 00. It is better that you look for tables with only one 0 - European tables. Primarily found in Europe, these tables offer a much more attractive house edge from the player's point of view. With a European table to play on you are reducing the house edge from 5. 26 percent to 2. 7 percent. Physically European roulette tables are found more often in Europe, but in the ‘online world’ gambling they are just a click away.

Power Roulette Rules. In some casinos there exist some special rules.
In Prison/En prison
When the ball falls on zero, red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets will not be collected by the croupier - instead they will have to stay on the table - in other words they are in prison. The players can win their original bet back during the next spin;if their bet wins they get their original bets back without additional gain. If it's zero again the bets remain in prison one more time and so on. As this special rule reduced the casinos edge, it's greatly to the advantage for the players.
La Partage
When the ball falls on zero, red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets will not be fully collected by the croupier. Only half of the players’ bets will be collected - the rest will be returned to the players. As well as the In Prison rule, the La Partage rule also reduces the casinos edge to only 1. 35 percent.

The table for real and online Roulette is the same, there is no difference. There are areas with 36 numbers, zero or zeros and a set of all bets a player can make. Most online roulette games feature exactly the same table. The online Roulette table is green. The only concern with the online roulette table is that there are not too many people playing there because if that is the case and there are simply way too many chips flying around everywhere, not only will it start to get confusing but arguments may break out over which chips belong to whom. If you don’t know how to play or don’t know the rules well enough you should know that Roulette table has lower bet limits. There are upper table limits as well, typically varying for every type of bet in a fixed proportion. The betting table has two parts: the inside and the outside. A bet on individual numbers or on a combination of numbers is places on the inside table, a bet on non-numeric conditions is placed on the outside table.

The inside table.

The inside table is simply a table of sequential numbers, 3 columns each representing a dozen. The zero (and double zero for American roulette) can be found above this table, and the column bet fields are below (they technically belong to the outside table). The outside table can be found to the right or to the left side of the inside table. The minimum wager for bets in the inside area are shown on the table itself, and players can make bets lower than this minimum limit.

The outside table.

On the outside table there are special bets, which are not bets on numbers. There is a minimum limit for outside table bets. The three squares attached to the inside table represent dozens. Betting on each dozen wins when any number within that dozen is played out. The next row is comprised of three pairs of cubicles. The outer squares are the "high/low bets": you can bet either on low (1 to 18) or high (19 to 36) half of the numbers. The counterpart of high/low is "odd/even": you bet on odd or even numbers respectively. The innermost squares are indeed "red/black": similar to the bets above, you respectively bet on red or black numbers. A "column bet" is a bet on either of three columns of 12 numbers when the chips are placed in the column squares under the number table. Remember that any bet in the outside table excludes zero and double zero. Consider this if you are planning on a strategy.

Roulette is a wheel game. The wheel of the roulette is spinned on an axis which is placed in a bowl. The wheel consists of 37 or 38 slots depending on the type of roulette:American roulette wheel contains 38 slots,European - 37. There are black and red numbers. The 0 or 00 are green. Up to 8 people can play roulette at the same time. Accordind to the rules the croupier spins the wheel of roulette in one direction and then rolls the ball around the edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. When the ball stops and falls at one of the slots the croupier announces the winners. The aim of roulette is to guess the number of the slot in which the ball will stop and to make the right bet. When you start the the game at the roulette table, you have to buy chips from the croupier which differ from all other chips in the casino. Each player is assigned his own color of chips so that the croupier knows who to pay off at the end of each spin. When the croupier announced "No more bets", hlayers cannot make bets. After the ball had stopped, the croupier puts a marker on top of the winning number on the table. The marker is placed on top of the chips, if there are bets on that number. The croupier sweeps off the table all losing bets and after that the winning bets are paid off.
