About Roulette Traditionally the game of Roulette is played between 8 players and a dealer. The dealer is to spin the Roulette wheel and to handle the wagers and payouts. Before the game starts each active player has to buy chips. Chips are of different color so that players’ bets don’t get mixed up. At the end of the game the colored chips have to be exchanged with cash chips. To play Roulette, players place their bets on numbers (any number including the zero) in the table layout or on the outside, and only when all the players have done this the croupier starts the spin and launches the ball. Then the dealer will say ‘no more bets’ and nobody is allowed to place, to change or to touch the bets. When the ball lands in one of the slots the dealer places the dolly on the number of the corresponding slot. The dealer takes all the losing bets from the table. The winners are those bets that are on or around the number that comes up. Also the bets on the outside of the layout win if the winning number is represented. Different types of Roulette have different house edges. Single-zero Roulette has the house advantage of 2.7%. Double-zero Roulette has the house edge of 5,26%, it is nearly twice as higher as the house edge of single-zero Roulette. There are several bets in the game of Roulette and they have different payouts. A bet on one number only, called a straight-up bet, pays 35 to 1. A two-number bet, called split bet, pays 17 to 1. A three-number bet, called street bet, pays 11 to 1. A four-number bet, called corner bet, pays 8 to 1. A six-number bet pays 5 to 1. A bet on the outside dozen or column, pays 2 to 1. A bet on the outside even money bets, pays 1 to 1.
